The playmaker king of the Nineties has told the Barclays Premier League’s passmasters that pretty football alone will not be enough to please him next season.
Michael Laudrup was yesterday publicly unveiled as Brendan Rodgers’ replacement at Swansea City and he was barely six minutes into his first briefing with the written press when he declared his desire for the new era – more goals.
The south Wales side were a revelation under Rodgers in their debut season in the Premier League, inflicting shock defeats on Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool with a game based on possession and intense pressing.
