Sturridge back in business as striker given green light to join Team GB

Daniel Sturridge has been given the green light to start his Olympic adventure.
The Chelsea forward will meet up with his Team GB team-mates for the first time on Monday afternoon after being given the all-clear by Blues doctors following his bout of viral meningitis.
Stuart Pearce’s side return from their Spanish training camp on the same day and Sturridge will join up with the squad at the Olympic Village immediately.

Sturridge has started light training at Chelsea’s Cobham base as he looks to build up his fitness ahead of Team GB’s opener against Senegal at Old Trafford on July 26.
The news will come as a huge boost to Pearce, with Sturridge expected to be his side’s first-choice striker during the Games.
