Juventus target Stevan Jovetic will not leave Fiorentina in the summer, communications director Gianfranco Teotino has said.
It is understood that the Bianconeri have put together an improved €25 million (£19.5m) bid for the Montenegro international after having their initial offer rejected by the Florentine club.
Such a bid falls close to Fiorentina's €30m (£23.4m) valuation of Jovetic, but the Viola director has given a strong indication that the 22-year-old has been taken off the market.
"I think that Stevan will stay with us and that the squad will be built around him to entertain the fans," Teotino told reporters on Monday.
"There is a lot of confidence and we want the player to be part of our project for the next year. We want to qualify for the Champions League with him being part of the project."
Jovetic, who joined Fiorentina from Partizan in 2008, scored 14 goals in Serie A last season.
