Acerbi: AC Milan can win Serie A without Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva

Francesco Acerbi insists AC Milan are still in possession of a squad capable of winning the Serie A title, despite the loss of star duo Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva to Paris Saint-Germain.
Many pundits are writing off the Rossoneri following the sale of their two most high-profile players, as well as the departure of a number of legendary figures, including Alessandro Nesta, Gennaro Gattuso and Filippo Inzaghi.
However, Acerbi, a summer signing from Chievo, is no doubt that Milan can reclaim the Scudetto from Juventus.
"Two great players have left, but Milan are already doing something in the transfer market and tomorrow our internationals will return from holiday," he told Sky Sport Italia.
"Anyway, I think that we are a great team and we are aiming to win the championship."
Acerbi, for his part, feels he is settling in well at Milanello, even if he freely admits that he is finding pre-season as gruelling as ever.
"I'm working well; the workload at the moment is really heavy," the centre-half explained.
"I have a big frame that takes a while to get going, but it's important to work well during this period in order to be ready for August 26 [the first Sunday of the new season]."
The 23-year-old made 17 appearances in Serie A for Chievo last season, scoring one goal.
