Andy Carroll given time to win over Brendan Rodgers

ANDY CARROLL was handed an extra chance to win over Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers in a training-ground friendly with Rochdale.
The England striker played in a behind-closed-doors fixture yesterday morning — with Daniel Agger and Pepe Reina.
Carroll faces an uncertain future under the new Anfield chief, who will offload him if a big enough chunk of his £35million fee can be recouped.
The 23-year-old did not score in a game that was abandoned before the hour mark because of a serious injury to Rochdale’s Reece Gray.
But he helped set up Glen Johnson for the Reds’ opener, with Nathan Ecclestone also on target.
