Raith Rovers 2 : 0 Hamilton FC - Graham at double for Raith
Posted Saturday, August 11, 2012 by PA
Brian Graham scored a brace as Brian Graham beat Hamilton 2-0 at Stark's Park in their opening Irn-Bru First Division clash.
Chances were at a premium in a poor first half with neither side able to create many genuine opportunities.
The hosts first chance fell to Joe Hamill just after the half-hour mark, but Kevin Cuthbert gathered his shot easily.
Hamilton came closest to taking the lead just before the interval, but David McGurn did well to block Steven Hendrie's effort.
The deadlock was broken just after the hour-mark when Graham scored from the penalty spot after being brought down by Martin Canning.
Victory was all but ensured when Graham scored his second four minutes from time when he converted Jason Thomson's cross.
Graham could have sealed the hat-trick minutes later, but for a fine save from Cuthbert.
