Alloa Athletic 1 : 1 East Fife - Alloa make point
Posted Saturday, August 11, 2012 by PA
Alloa came from behind to earn a point as they drew 1-1 with East Fife at Recreation Park.
The first chance fell to the visitors but David Muir failed to keep his effort down from the edge of the area.
But they took the lead just before the half-hour mark through Darren McCormack's fine drive from 18 yards out.
Alloa came close to an instant reply but Michael Brown was alert to keep out a shot from Daryll Meggatt.
However, they did equalise in the 74th minute when Stephen Simmons was able to poke a loose ball over the line.
And manager Paul Hartley will no doubt be satisfied with the draw after the Wasps avoided defeat on their return to the Second Division.
