Joey Barton’s cigar victim Tandy jailed

EX-Manchester City footballer Jamie Tandy — whose eye was notoriously stubbed with a cigar by Joey Barton — was in jail last night after being arrested stepping off a plane at Heathrow.
The former youth player turned window cleaner was hauled before a judge for fleeing to Australia part-way through a suspended sentence for beating up his girlfriend.
Tandy, 28, had planned to return in a fortnight to his new job as a scaffolder in Perth — but was jailed for four months.
Judge Charles Bloom declared at Bolton Crown Court in Gtr Manchester he was sending a message about scarpering abroad.
He told Tandy, who will be freed after serving half his sentence: “Return to Australia or go where you like at the end of the two months.”
Soccer bad boy Barton, now 29, almost blinded Tandy with the cigar at a 2004 Christmas party.
Tandy turned to booze as his career flopped. An arrest warrant was issued when he emigrated in June last year — violating his 12-month suspended sentence for battering girlfriend Sian Heron.
