Arsenal and Spurs eye deal for Spanish ace

Arsenal and Tottenham are ready to pounce as Spain international Adrian Lopez stalls on a new contract at Atletico Madrid.
Lopez, a UEFA European Under-21 Championship winner last summer, enjoyed a hugely successful debut campaign at Atletico last season, where he formed a strong partnership with free-scoring Colombia international Radamel Falcao.
Both north London clubs, in addition to several other top sides across Europe, are believed to have tracked the 24-year-old in recent months, and Atletico moved to ward off interest by offering the forward a new deal.
But Lopez has yet to put pen to paper, increasing local fears that he might seek to leave the Vicente Calderon.
However, Atletico insist that any club looking to sign the former Oviedo and Deportivo La Coruna striker must meet the full £14.4m asking price stated in the player’s buy-out clause.
