Second-placed Alloa will be without skipper Darren Young due to a calf injury when they take on a Queen of the South side sitting 21 points ahead of them at the top.

Ryan McCord, who scored the winner when the Wasps beat the Doonhamers back in December, is suspended, with Jason Marr rated as a doubt due to an ankle problem.

But Stephen Simmons is available to face one of his former sides after suspension.

Recreation Park boss Paul Hartley said: "We have had three very close games with Queen of the South already where we have won one, they have won one and there has been a draw.

"They have been terrific this season but we have nothing to be fearful of."

Queen of the South return to the only ground where they have tasted defeat in the Second Division this season.

Only Ian McShane is missing due to a hip injury.

Player-manager Allan Johnston said: "We may have lost that game but the reaction from the players has been fantastic. We have played 14 games since then, winning 12 and drawing two.

"Alloa are a really good footballing side and this will be a really tough game. They will be looking to bounce back from losing at home last week and they will also want to finish the season as high in the table as possible.

"We will need to play well to win it."
