ARSENAL are weighing up a move for Juventus star Martín Cáceres.

The former Barcelona man is currently sidelined, having picked up an injury during last weekend's World Cup qualification encounters.
Cáceres will require arthroscopic surgery after an MRI scan on his right knee revealed a torn external meniscus, but that hasn't put off the Gunners who are keen to strengthen their backline with the Uruguayan international.
Sources in Italy claim Arsenal and Napoli have identified the 26-year-old as a talent, with the north London side having had several enquiries turned down by ianconeri coach Antonio Conte.
Napoli coach Benitez meanwhile, is known to be a long time admirer of Caceres since his days at Premier League club Liverpool.
Both clubs will monitor the defender's fitness through the rest of the current season, and will will offer new deals at the end of the season, if he makes a successful comeback.
Arsenal have been given a backline boost after Thomas Vermaelen was included in the squad for Saturday's clash against Sunderland, having been sidelined with a back problem since the summer.
