"The Bundesliga is like eating pizza; the Champions League is a good restaurant"

Josep Guardiola reached into his bag of metaphors to explain the relative importance of the Bundesliga and the Champions League, in which his Bayern Munich side is steamrollering towards glory.
While English coaches are fond of calling the league their "bread and butter", the former Barcelona manager went even further: "The Bundesliga is like eating pizza or a hamburger every day, while the Champions League is like a meal out at a good restaurant".
Guardiola went on to clarify that this wasn't intended as a slight on the German league, but rather as a compliment: "The most prestigious trophy is the Champions League, but the most important and most difficult one is the Bundesliga", he stated.
Bayern's big challenge in the league is to not take its eye off the ball, which is no mean feat considering it is already 16 points ahead of second-placed Bayer Leverkusen.
"I'm sure we'll lose the odd game", the Catalan claimed at the end of his press conference ahead of the meeting with Hannover. If, on the other hand, the Bavarian club manages to stay unbeaten, this would be a record-breaking achievement.
