Chelsea vs Paris St Germain preview - Eto'o could return for PSG visit

Striker Samuel Eto'o could be risked despite his recent hamstring injury when Chelsea face Paris St Germain in Tuesday's Champions League quarter-final second leg seeking to overturn a 3-1 deficit.

Eto'o has missed the last three matches, including the first leg at the Parc des Princes when Jose Mourinho fielded a strikerless starting XI, with Fernando Torres overlooked before returning for Saturday's win over Stoke.

Ramires is suspended, Nemanja Matic and Mohamed Salah are ineligible and Marco van Ginkel could be included on the substitutes' bench after his lengthy knee injury.

Frank Lampard insists Chelsea must get the balance right in a contest Mourinho has described as "almost impossible".

A 3-1 loss at the Parc des Princes means the Blues need to overturn a two-goal deficit on Tuesday night to advance to the Champions League semi-finals for a seventh time in 11 years.

"This is almost the impossible job," Mourinho said. "It can be (a) special (night), for sure."

The absences of Ramires (suspended), Nemanja Matic (ineligible) and John Obi Mikel (injured) means Lampard is likely to start after scoring his 250th club goal in Saturday's 3-0 defeat of Stoke.

The 35-year-old midfielder said: "We have to be positive and try to win the game.

"We will have to keep our heads because with the squad we've got we can win by two goals for sure.

"But we can't be too gung-ho. It's all about finding the right balance.

"We can certainly win by two goals. We have to take away that feeling of chasing goals from minute one a little bit.

"It's more about getting our focus and attitude, pacing our game right.

"If we do that, the consequence could be winning by a couple of goals."

Laurent Blanc is adamant Paris St Germain will not be cowed by Chelsea and will play their own game.

"We can't just be content with sitting back and letting Chelsea come on to us," Blanc said.

"Our ambition is to go out and try to cause them problems. We're used to taking the game to the opposition.

"Look at our statistics in the Champions League - we've always scored.

"That's a significant statistic. Chelsea are going to try to score, but Paris St Germain will as well. That's our mentality.

"We've not come here to suffer, we've not come here to have Chelsea just dictate the game to us and to dominate us.

"We know that the best approach to take is to have the ball and to create chances.

"That's the role of a top team, to be able to dominate the game away from home. Ultimately the game will come down to who has the ball and how well they're able to use it."
