Levante vs Valencia preview - Fuego aims to finish on high

Valencia midfielder Javi Fuego has vowed to try to put a shine on what has been the club's worst season in recent memory.

Valencia are on course for their lowest league finish since 1998 unless they can win both of their remaining games, against Levante and Celta Vigo. They also exited the Europa League in the most agonising of circumstances, losing their semi-final tie with Sevilla due to an injury-time goal.

But Fuego sought to rally the troops ahead of Sunday's game at local rivals Levante.

He told reporters: "Every game you play wearing this badge means a lot and even more so when you bear in mind that this is a derby and that we are playing for the right to finish above them in the table.

"There are enough reasons to prepare for this game. The two remaining games are still interesting, first of all the derby then the chance to finish the season well at home. We have to cling onto the positives after the blow of the Sevilla game."

Levante defender Juanfran Garcia is certain it will be an enjoyable match, even though neither of the two teams need the points.

"We have nothing to play for and neither do they, but that is not important," he told the club's official website.

"It's a special game for both teams, one you always look out for, a game that is special for the city of Valencia and the players. I hope there is a big turnout in the stadium, because it's always great to play in a derby, and to win one."
