Kop idol Suarez has pledged his future to the Anfield outfit in recent weeks – but moneybags Spanish side Madrid may tempt him with the chance of a dream move to the Galacticos.

And former Bernabeu president Ramon Calderon says he would not be at all surprised if Madrid make a bid for the Uruguay goal-getter this summer.

Talk of a £100million, world record bid for the sensational Suarez, 27, has dominated the football world over the last week.

Frontman Suarez rattled home 31 goals in last season’s Premier League campaign – ten clear of anybody else in the top flght – and helped the Reds secure Champions League football next term.

And his goal record and form has alerted Real boss Carlo Ancelotti.

The Italian wants to replace France hitman Karim Benzema who disappointed in Spain with only 17 league goals over the course of the season.

Calderon said: “Luis Suarez, no doubt, is one of the best players in the world and he’s had a fantastic season with Liverpool.

“Of course Real Madrid could bid for him.

“With Real Madrid, you have to expect anything – that’s for sure.

“Benzema is a good player but it’s true he didn’t score as many goals as people thought he should.”

An attacking trio of Suarez Cristiano Ronaldo and Wales star Gareth Bale would be a force to be reckoned with, both in Spain and on the European stage.

And Real are looking at various ways of making the deal happen this summer.
