Real Madrid have announced that Luka Modric has signed a new contract tying him to the club for the next four seasons. This represents a one-year extension to his old deal, which was due to expire in 2017.
Modric moved to the Bernabéu from Tottenham in the summer of 2012. It has yet to be disclosed whether the club has given the midfielder a raise - under the terms of his old contract, the Croat earned around €4.5 million a season - or increased his release clause.
