RAHEEM STERLING admitted yesterday Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers' joke about his feeble finish at Tottenham went completely over his head.

Sterling went on a dazzling run on Sunday at White Hart Lane but shot weakly at keeper Hugo Lloris, rather than use his left foot.

"Raheem dribbled like Ricky Villa but shot like Ricky Gervais," said Rodgers after the 3-0 win.

Rodgers were referring to Spurs legend Villa's famous against Manchester City in the 1981 FA Cup Final and the star of TV's 'The Office'.

"At first when I was told what he said I didn't even understand it," the 19-year-old said.

"But I typed both names into Google so I know what he meant now.

"He's joked about it and said it was like a baby's shot.

"He's given me a bit of stick for it, but my finishing is something I'm improving on and will keep improving on.

"Hopefully next time I'll score two.

Sterling and Liverpool team-mate Jordan Henderson also confessed yesterday they did not know the names of any players in the Norway squad, who they face tomorrow at Wembley.

But the FA stressed that last night in-depth briefings would be held for the players about their opponents.
