Brighton & Hove Albion vs Blackpool preview - Hyypia to tinker again

Posted Friday, September 19, 2014 by PA

Sami Hyypia is set to rotate his squad again for the visit of struggling Blackpool.

The Seagulls chief made five changes to his starting line-up at Ipswich in midweek but his side slumped to a 2-0 defeat.

Andrew Crofts, Gary Gardner, Joao Teixeira and Adrian Colunga will be among those pushing for recalls.

Solly March and Dale Stephens are the only injury absentees. March has yet to figure this season due to a back injury while fellow midfielder Stephens has been out since April with an ankle problem.

Blackpool boss Jose Riga must decide whether to bring Andrea Orlandi back for the trip after he missed Tuesday's loss to Watford with a foot injury.

Riga told the Blackpool Gazette: "Andrea has some trouble with his foot and we didn't want to take any risks. While we have Jacob Mellis still missing, we have to protect Orlandi."

Defender Gary MacKenzie, striker Steven Davies and midfielder Bobby Grant are also still sidelined for the winless Seasiders.

Summer signing Jose Cubero has yet to make his debut for the club after work permit problems and sustaining a knock playing for Costa Rica, so is another doubt.
