Juventus vs AS Roma preview - Chiellini: We are over loss

Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini has warned Sunday's rivals Roma that he and his team-mates have already put their Champions League midweek loss at Atletico Madrid behind them.

The Italian champions fell 1-0 in Madrid on Wednesday to concede their first defeat of the campaign.

"I think our strength is always to evaluate the positives and negatives from a game in order to face our next encounter in the best possible way," Chiellini said. "We are ready to face Roma.

"It will be a different game with respect to our match against Atletico because they play a different style of football.

"We have a lot of respect for Roma, they have great players, not just Francesco Totti.

"We want to do well against them knowing we face a very difficult match.

"Both teams have started the season really well so we expect a level game."

Roma, like Juve, carry a five-game winning streak in Serie A into the top-of-the-table showdown in Turin.

The Giallorossi held Manchester City to a 1-1 draw in Tuesday's Champions League encounter at the Etihad stadium in England to remain unbeaten this season.

Totti, the Roma captain, struck the equaliser to become the oldest player ever to score in the Champions League.

"We knew we were strong side but our performance in Manchester has further reinforced this," the 38-year-old Totti said. "We have a competitive team and like our fans, we expect to do great things this year.

"This could be our year.

"Juve are the defending champions and they are still the team to beat."

Roma coach Rudi Garcia is hoping to recover veteran goalkeeper Morgan De Sanctis.

De Sanctis sustained a right thigh injury during last weekend's 2-0 triumph over Hellas Verona and sat out Tuesday's match.

Should the 37-year-old fail to recover, Lukasz Skorupski - who started at the Etihad Stadium in midweek - will continue between the posts.

The visitors are also without eight injured players for this weekend's match, including experienced midfielder Daniele De Rossi and Kevin Strootman.

Juve coach Massimiliano Allegri has recalled veteran midfielder Andrea Pirlo.

Pirlo has been sidelined for a month with a thigh injury but could feature for the first time this season against Roma.

The hosts will be without Alvaro Morata, with the Spanish striker having sustained a right thigh injury in midweek.

Morata has joined injured defender Andrea Barzagli on the sidelines.
