LOUIS VAN GAAL tonight warned Jose Mourinho to forget about winding him up.

IT'S ONLY WORDS: Louis van Gaal refuses to play mind games with Jose Mourinho

The Manchester United boss goes head to head with the man he mentored at Barcelona when his side take on Chelsea on Sunday in the Premier League clash of the weekend.

Mourinho is the master of getting under the skin of rival managers.

And earlier this month he wound Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger up to the point where he shoved the Chelsea boss in the chest.

But the man nicknamed the 'Iron Tulip' says he will never fall for it.

Van Gaal said: "I'm [made] from a little bit of iron - so I have a shield, an iron shield.

"Nothing can get past that shield."

Van Gaal had the Portuguese as one of his assistants during his three-year spell at Barcelona.

But he cannot explain why his protégé upsets so many rivals.

He said: "Every human being reacts to what I have said in his own way. You have to ask him why he reacts like he reacts, not me.

"I don't know him as a manager. I'm never there. I knew him as a person and as my assistant manager."

Sunday's clash is only the second time they have faced each other as managers, with Mourinho beating Van Gaal in the 2010 Champions League final.

Van Gaal will keep faith with Robin van Persie for tomorrow's game despite the Dutch striker only scoring twice this season.

He added: "I think he is more fit than ever. He don't score so much. Maybe now he is playing better but doesn't score as much.

"He's self-confident so I expect he shall score and maybe against Chelsea."

Angel Di Maria has also been passed fit to start after overcoming a thigh injury picked up in Monday's 2-2 draw with West Brom.

Meanwhile, Chelsea defender Filipe Luis fears United hitman Radamel Falcao.

The pair played together at Atletico Madrid and Luis said: "Falcao is a better striker now. He is a tiger and wants to score more. He is a brilliant striker."
