Caen vs Bastia preview - Perquis: Cup loss is behind us

Caen goalkeeper Damien Perquis insists his side's cup defeat to Bastia in midweek will have no impact on the Ligue 1 clash between the two teams on Saturday.
Caen, the league's bottom side, went down to a 3-2 extra-time defeat in the Coupe de la Ligue on Tuesday, their fourth straight defeat.
Things are not going too much better for Bastia, though, and a home victory for Caen this weekend would put them level on points with their opponents.
Caen also led the cup tie twice and were minutes from pulling off a 2-1 win, so Perquis does not believe the loss will influence Saturday's match.
"These are two separate competitions," he said on the club website.
"Victory or defeat in the Coupe de la Ligue is not indicative of the result in Ligue 1."
Caen have taken just two points from the last 21 available, but Perquis has urged his side to show the resilience which earned them promotion to the top flight last season.
"Last season, to achieve promotion, we, the players, thought a lot about the club and everyone who worked there. If today the goal is different, we have to show a similar state of mind," he said.
Bastia recorded a much-needed 2-0 win at home to Rennes last weekend, the result ending a run of three straight defeats.
They have not tasted success on the road since mid-October, though.
