The Foxes have been looking for a manager to replace previous boss Nigel Pearson who was sacked last month, with a host of candidates linked with the vacant position.
It is understood that Leicester have drawn up a huge shortlist of possible managers next season with former Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink and ex Leicester boss Martin O Neil just some of the names linked with the job.
The hierarchy at the King Power Stadium have not given any indication as to any preferred candidate, though it is understood that the clubs ambitious Thai owners are looking for someone who can achieve their long term target of European football.
It will be interesting to see if Peter Schmeichel is a big enough name for the club who have a histroy when it comes to hiring high-profile managers having appointed former England manager Sven-Göran Eriksson in 2010.
