Despite being linked with a big-money move to Manchester United, Arjen Robben thinks that Thomas Muller will stay with Bayern Munich

Arjen Robben says he could understand that Bayern Munich teammate Thomas Muller would be flattered by interest from Manchester United, while the Germany international himself has said the money in football is "crazy."

Muller, 25, has been linked with United throughout the summer but Bayern sporting executive Matthias Sammer told Sport Bild earlier this week that the Germany international "has no price tag" amid a report the Premier League side had made an €85 million offer.

Bayern winger Robben, who has also been linked with a move to United since Louis van Gaal's arrival as manager last year, said it would be understandable for Muller to be tempted.

"First of all, I am not sure if it really is true that Thomas Muller receives such an offer but in general it is always nice for a player when such a big club is interested," the Netherlands international told reporters. "We're all human and have feelings.

"Receiving such an offer is flattering but it doesn't automatically mean that you are leaving the club. I think the players like it here and Bayern is one of the biggest clubs in the world. I love it here.

"But it is always nice when other big clubs are interested -- you feel honoured. Sometimes then you choose to go, but sometimes you stay."

Muller says he finds it hard to believe he is being rated at €100m in some quarters.

"Basically, the numbers going around in football are just crazy, but that's the business," Muller told Sport1. "But it's not the individual that is worth €100m -- it is just a trade figure. That's why I am totally relaxed."

Muller recalled an incident during Bayern's charity match at Dynamo Dresden on Monday.

"The other night in Dresden, a fan with a megaphone addressed me, saying: 'Hey, €100m man, how much is your jersey worth?' It made me chuckle."

Robben also said the increases in transfer fees recently have been "crazy," and made specific reference to Raheem Sterling's move from Liverpool to Manchester City for up to £49m (€68m).

Referring to the reported €85m bid for Muller, the former Chelsea and Real Madrid star said: "That's a lot of money, but when you sometimes see what is actually paid ... How much was the lad moving from Liverpool to City? Those are just crazy numbers."

He added: "I don't know -- the numbers might even increase in the future."
