Falkirk 2 - 1 Dumbarton : Falkirk see of Dumbarton to go top of the Championship
Posted Saturday, August 29, 2015 by PA
Falkirk moved to the top of the Ladbrokes Championship with a 2-1 win against Dumbarton.
Goals in the opening 14 minutes from Blair Alston and Craig Sibbald proved enough to move them above Rangers and Queen of the South in the table.
All the goals were scored in a whirlwind first half-hour at Falkirk Stadium.
Alston fired in off the crossbar following slack defending from the visitors in the fifth minute before Sibbald exchanged passes with Luke Leahy, cut in from the right and curled into the top corner.
The Sons hit back in the 27th minute when Darren Barr nodded in from close range after Gregor Buchanan headed Willie Gibson's corner across the face of goal.
But the hosts held on in the second half to record a third successive victory.
