AFC Bournemouth vs Leicester City preview - Eddie Howe: Bournemouth's home form will be vital

Eddie Howe says Bournemouth's home form is the key to their Premier League survival bid this season.

The Cherries welcome high-flying Leicester to Dean Court on Saturday after back-to-back victories.

Bournemouth secured their first Premier League win with a 4-3 triumph at West Ham last weekend before progressing to the third round of the Capital One Cup after hammering League Two Hartlepool on Tuesday night.

"Our home form is going to be very important this season and I think every manager would say that," said Howe.

"At the heart of a successful season is always good form at home in front of your own supporters.

"We want to win in front of them, we want to play well in front of them, and we want to entertain them. I think that's part of our responsibility.

"We will certainly try to do that. Not just in this game, but every game. Hopefully that will set a good platform for the season."

Howe's side will face a Leicester team brimming in confidence after taking seven points from their opening three matches.

But the Bournemouth manager is not surprised by their start to the campaign following the summer arrival of Claudio Ranieri.

"We respect Leicester, and they've had a flying start," Howe added.

"That's no surprise really because they've got a good manager and a good bunch of players. They are very well organised and, looking at their opening games, they'll be a tough nut to crack.

"Claudio Ranieri was a great appointment for them. You only have to look at the teams he has managed to realise he knows what he is doing.

"They have some very good front players, but they are also very difficult to break down.

"They've been pretty consistent in their selection since their Championship days, so they have players that know the club and have done well for them."

Leicester boss Ranieri is set to recall in-form winger Riyad Mahrez after resting him in mid-week.

The Italian changed the whole team for their 4-1 League Cup win at Bury but Gokhan Inler, who played, is expected to make his full Premier League debut.

The Foxes currently sit second in the table following their unbeaten start but Ranieri has warned against getting carried away.

He said: "Now we must stay calm, continue to fight. Our goal is to reach 40 points as soon as possible.

"Everyone now is smiling but it's my job to remind everyone there are smiles and bad moments. Remember the bad moments now so you have the right balance. When we lose we remember the good moments."
