Chelsea still want Porto's Neves

Could Porto's Ruben Neves be the answer to Chelsea's midfield woe? The 18-year-old impressed in Tuesday's 2-1 win against Jose Mourinho's side.
Chelsea show interest in FC Porto youngster Ruben Neves a few weeks back. According to the Evening Standard, that mooted move is still on the table for Jose Mourinho and co.
Chelsea got a close-up look at the Porto midfielder on Tuesday in their 2-1 Champions League loss to the Portuguese club. Perhaps Mourinho liked what he saw, as Neves played a solid match and assisted on Maicon's winner in the 52nd minute. With midfield -- and just about everywhere else on the field -- being a problem for last season's champions, Neves could be just the tonic.
The 18-year-old, who was recently compared to a young Sergio Busquets in our Scout's Notebook, has a £29 million buyout clause in his contract. That's a lot of money for a player who just made his professional debut last season, but it's beginning to look like desperate times already at Stamford Bridge.
Neves has been described as a player who can be deployed as a holding midfielder or play further up the pitch, and who possesses excellent vision and passing skill.
