Philippe Coutinho has emerged as Barcelona's top January transfer target, according to Sport this morning.
The Brazilian has been increasingly linked with a move back to La Liga in recent months – not least by his childhood friend Neymar, who hasn't been shy to talk up a move for the Kop idol.
What with the FIFA transfer ban and the current injury crisis they are going through, Barcelona’s squad is lacking in depth, and it looks like they’ll be making moves in January to compensate.
Sport claim that Coutinho is the ‘most convincing’ player of all the targets they have drawn up, and they are buoyed by his apparent desire to play in the Champions League.
The player’s people are aware of the interest, according to Sport, but they would rather wait until the summer before making a move in order to optimize his adaptation.
