Dembele targets Spurs starting role

Tottenham midfielder Mousa Dembele is keen to define his role in the starting line-up following his man-of-the-match performance in the 0-0 draw with Liverpool.
Dembele has played a bit-part role in Mauricio Pochettino's side so far this campaign, largely due to the emergence of Eric Dier and Dele Alli in the centre of midfield, managing just six Premier League appearances so far.
However, the Belgian was handed another chance against the Reds at the weekend and impressed in the holding role in midfield alongside Alli, and Dembele is keen to tie down a regular place.
"My best position depends on our tactics and the opposition," Dembele is quoted as saying by the Daily Mirror.
"Against Liverpool, there was a lot of space for me because they try to attack. But against teams that sit back, I could be best from the right as I can make a difference.
"Last season, there were also a lot of players in each position and you have to have this if you want to compete with the top teams. It is quite hard to hold down a place.
"It is something that we need to discuss but I will try to impress the manager wherever he plays me. It is something between me and the gaffer that we need to sort out."
