Monaco 1 - 1 Caen: Late Ronny Rodelin strike earns Caen a point at Monaco

Ronny Rodelin scored four minutes from time as second-placed Caen extended their unbeaten run in Ligue 1 to four games with a 1-1 draw at Monaco.

Following a goalless first half it looked like Monaco might take all three points when Guido Carrillo scored his first goal for the club 11 minutes into the second period.

However, Rodelin struck late on to round off a successful week for the visitors following their impressive 4-1 win at Bordeaux over the weekend.

In what was a quiet opening, the visitors went closest when Rodelin could only head wide from Julien Feret's free-kick.

Fabio Coentrao was the first to test Remy Vercoutre, with the Caen goalkeeper stopping the former Real Madrid left-back's free-kick despite a big deflection.

Vincent Bessat and Feret both had efforts at the Monaco goal before the break but neither managed to beat Danijel Subasic from distance.

Monaco made the breakthrough in the 56th minute when Carrillo beat Damien Da Silva and Syam Ben Youssef to Almamy Toure's delivery before heading beyond Vercoutre.

Caen refused to lie down, though, and Bessat's volley went agonisingly wide of the post after Andy Delort picked out the unmarked forward.

Then, with less than five minutes to play, the visitors managed to beat Subasic when Ben Youssef headed Feret's free-kick into the path of Rodelin and the former Lille striker did the rest to steal a point for Caen.
