VfB Stuttgart 2 - 1 Hamburger: Artem Kravets scores late to hand Stuttgart a Bundesliga victory over Hamburg

Stuttgart made it two wins out of two in 2016 with a dramatic but deserved 2-1 Bundesliga victory over Hamburg at the Mercedes-Benz Arena.
Artem Kravets, a new loan arrival from Dynamo Kiev, grabbed an 88th-minute clincher for the home side whose dominance was rewarded.
After Pierre-Michel Lasogga hit the crossbar for Hamburg early on, there was only one side who looked like scoring as Stuttgart took control.
Christian Gentner dragged an effort wide, Timo Werner was denied by Rene Adler twice and there appeared to be a curse on Stuttgart when Werner was denied again early in the second half as Adler made the save, and the ball trickled just wide of the post.
Kevin Grosskreutz's effort was cleared off the line and Adler made an astonishing stop to prevent Lukas Rupp converting from the rebound as chances continued to arrive.
Hamburg finally fell behind in the 66th minute when Aaron Hunt conceded an own goal, with his effort to clear Daniel Didavi's header in vain. The ball struck Hunt and crossed the line before he could drag it back. Goal-line technology showed Stuttgart had made the breakthrough they were seeking.
Artjoms Rudnevs scored an equaliser against the run of play with a diving header from six yards in the 75th minute, but Stuttgart substitute Kravets had the final say with his first Bundesliga goal earning the hosts all three points late on.
