Chelsea Must Convince Romelu Lukaku To Return to Stamford Bridge

Chelsea's transfer policy is clear for everyone to see. It's very simple and extremely clever. It's not news that the defending English champions purchase talent and then loan them to different leagues – highlighted by their active link with Eredivisie club Vitesse Arnhem.
There is never any guarantee that any of their young acquisitions will blossom into superstars, but one issue Chelsea have had over recent years is keeping their most talented youngsters at the club.
Letting go of both Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku, although in hindsight, looks like two huge errors. Those mistakes now look even greater with Chelsea now in desperate need of an attacking midfielder and a centre-forward.

It would be impossible for Chelsea to resign De Bruyne, but Lukaku is a possibility, and the club should do everything in their power to lure the Belgian striker back to Stamford Bridge:
Fans can't forget the failure of highly-rated strikers like Andriy Shevchenko, Fernando Torres and now Radamel Falcao. One of the main reasons for their struggles is arguably Chelsea's signature playing style – the Londoners need forwards with physical strength, ability in the air, and ability to retain possession of the ball. Traits that perfectly describe Lukaku.
Diego Costa has been perfect for Chelsea during previous seasons, but Eden Hazard's drop in form, combined with Cesc Fabregas' up and down performances has had an impact on the Spaniard's performances. Costa has only scored nine goals this season while Lukaku has netted 16 times for the Toffees in the same period.
The Belgian wins 38,9% of his aerial duels, via Squawka almost 8% more than the Spanish international (31,13%) – Lukaku has also contributed 33 key passes, double what Diego Costa has managed.
Lukaku, if tempted by a return to London, could see the similarities between his style of play and that of Chelsea legend, Didier Drogba. Also, he may also realise that his chances of lifting trophies are much higher at Stamford Bridge than at Goodison Park.
Two months' ago Lukaku revealed he is still in regular contact with the Ivorian striker, citing Drogba as one of the reasons behind his good playing form. "Didier is my idol and he knows it – I still speak to Drogba. He gives me tips all the time.”
After a quiet winter, once Chelsea name their new manager, it is expected that the chequebook will reopen in the summer. If they are still in the market for a new striker, Lukaku has all the attributes that the London club should be looking for and would be the perfect addition for next season.
