Newcastle v Bournemouth
Newcastle United could move out of the relegation zone with a win against Bournemouth at St James' Park in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Magpies have only managed to pick up nine out of 30 available points since Boxing Day, but will feel they have a decent chance of victory against fellow strugglers Bournemouth this weekend.

As it stands, they are level on points with Norwich and rivals Sunderland directly above them in the table, meaning goal difference is the only thing keeping them from safety at this stage, and a win over the Cherries will more than likely lift them out of the drop zone.

However, they are unlikely to have things all their own way after the visitors picked up a morale-boosting 2-0 win over Southampton in midweek and have only lost one of their last 10 matches away from the Vitality Stadium.

Bournemouth have clearly struggled against the top teams in the Premier League, but have generally done well against sides around them on the table and they will take a significant amount of confidence into the match against the Magpies.

Newcastle captain Fabricio Coloccini is racing against time to recover from a calf injury, but is rated as a major doubt to play, while there is also uncertainty over the fitness of Andros Townsend (knock), Cheick Tiote (hamstring) and Papiss Cisse (groin).

Harry Arter (Achilles) and Josh King (ankle) picked up injuries in the Cherries' win over the Saints and face late fitness tests but are not expected to be part of the matchday squad.
