Ward-Prowse backs Forster for England
Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse says that England have three top goalkeepers, with Jack Butland and Fraser Forster ready to challenge Joe Hart for a place.

The Three Lions face Germany in a friendly at the Olympiastadion in Berlin on Saturday in preparation for the upcoming Euro 2016 in France.

Hart's absence with a calf injury means that Butland of Stoke City is expected to fill in between the sticks, but Ward-Prowse has also praised Forster's form for the Saints and believes he is ready to earn a fourth cap for his country.

"They are both top keepers and top guys and now they've got the opportunity I'm sure they will be raring to go to take it with both hands," he said.

"I think all of the keepers are ready. We can't forget about my club-mate Fraser Forster, who has been in fantastic form. He has been the reason why we have been solid at Southampton."

Forster has only recently returned from a knee injury that kept him sidelined for 10 months, but has kept six clean sheets in his first 11 games back for the Saints.

"To me it was no surprise," Ward-Prowse added. "I am really good friends with him and to see the work he put in in the gym to make sure he was physically at his best

"It wasn't any surprise that come the first game he looked like he had been playing all season. It's credit to him and hopefully it will continue for club and country. Roy [Hodgson] has a lot to choose from which is good for the national team."
