ROMELU LUKAKU has sparked a £56 million transfer stampede among six major clubs after giving the biggest hint yet that he wants to quit Everton.

ON THE MOVE: Lukaku has plenty of options next season

Lukaku, 22, is desperate to play in the Champions League next season and has revealed his agent is working behind the scenes to help him fulfil his dream.

But his dad, Roger, believes his son should choose Manchester United who are still desperately fighting for a top four finish. Bayern Munich would be another major choice in Roger's eyes.

Real Madrid, Juventus, Atletico Madrid and Chelsea are also in the frame for Lukaku, who joined Everton for £28 million in the summer of 2014 when Jose Mourinho sanctioned his exit.

Lukaku said: "It's good to be mentioned because it means they are keeping an eye on me. But I have an agent who is dealing with this for me at the moment.

"Let's see what the future brings. I need to be playing in the Champions League. That's the next step for me. It will be nice to play in the Champions League for next season."

Chelsea new boss Antonio Conte is reported to have put Lukaku on top of his wanted list but the Belgian striker is in no rush to return to Stamford Bridge.

He added: "I have nothing to prove against them. I have moved on and they have moved on. It was the best deal for both of us. I have become a better player so let's see what the future brings."

Lukaku senior would love his son to head to either Manchester or Munich and said: "He's ready. I see that there is interest from Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Chelsea and Manchester United.

"I know his agent prefers Italy but I think he must choose United or Bayern. Manchester United is a team under construction with no real focus."

Lukaku would guarantee fire power at any club he joined but it would certainly boost a United shot shy side where Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial top the scorers list with seven goals each.
