Hannover 96 0 - 3 Hamburger: Hannover slip closer to Bundesliga relegation as Hamburg coast to victory

Hannover's relegation to the 2. Bundesliga appears all but mathematically certain after they were beaten 3-0 at home by Hamburg, whose top-flight future now seems secure.
Ivo Ilicevic lifted the ball over the crossbar from just five yards out, with the goal gaping, as an early chance went begging for the guests.
Ilicevic had another effort saved magnificently by Ron-Robert Zieler on the hour mark, and from the resulting corner Cleber Reis gave Hamburg the lead with a header from eight yards out.
It was a case of third time lucky for Ivicevic, who doubled Hamburg's lead in the 73rd minute, turning in Sven Schipplock's low cross at the near post.
Nicolai Muller wiped away any remaining doubts about the result when he found a gaping hole in the Hannover defence and took the ball around Zieler before slotting it in.
Thomas Schaaf's Hannover remain 10 points adrift of safety, and with 13 defeats in their last 14 games it seems increasingly unlikely they will be able to pick up enough points from their final six games to stay up.
