According to reports from Calcio Mercato, incoming Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is considering bringing Fiorentina midfielder Federico Bernardeschi with him to Stamford Bridge this summer.
The Blues announced the Italy gaffer as their next manager earlier this week, taking over at Stamford Bridge and stepping down as Azzurri boss after the summer’s European Championship in France.
And according to Calcio Mercato, the 46-year-old is considering bringing one of Italian football’s hottest prospects not only to Euro 2016 but also west London – Fiorentina’s prodigious winger Federico Bernardeschi.
The 22-year-old has emerged a Viola regular this season and particularly impressed with his Europa League displays, notching up four goals in six appearances whilst averaging 1.1 created chances per match.
Conte clearly holds Bernardeschi in high regard, issuing him two inaugural caps for Italy, against European powerhouses Spain and Germany, during the recent international break. His Fiorentina contract, however, doesn’t expire for another three years.
