Bale: I came to Madrid to win Champions Leagues

After helping the club reach another European final on Wednesday night, Gareth Bale said that he chose to transfer to Real Madrid in order to win the Champions League.Los Blancos defeated Manchester City 1-0 at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, and will play Atletico Madrid for their 11th continental trophy on May 28th.

"The reason I came to Real Madrid was to win Champions Leagues," he told BT Sport."

I've got one already, and I have got a chance to win another."The 26-year-old was originally credited with scoring the winner on Wednesday, but his deflected cross was eventually ruled an own-goal by Manchester City's Fernando.

"It doesn't matter who scores or whether it's an own goal or not. The main thing is we have a chance to win the Champions League again."

Bale has come on strongly in the final weeks of the season.The winger has scored the winning goal in Real Madrid's last two La Liga matches, and also had a header glance off the corner of the goal frame against the Citizens.

"I feel I'm growing up," he explained of his recent form."

My Spanish is improving a lot and I am increasingly integrated into the team.

"Beginnings are always difficult, but I think the hardest times have passed and right now I feel better every [day]."

Asked about the final against the Rojiblancos, Bale responded that he expects a tough match."Atletico are a complicated rival. But we will be prepared."
