Arsenal make offer to Napoli striker Duvan Zapata, claims his agent

Arsenal have made an offer to Napoli striker Duvan Zapata, his agent has told Italian outlet Radio Kiss Kiss, reported by Goal.

Arsenal are expected to be busy this summer as they look to bounce back from a disappointing season for them.

Arsene Wenger has already secured the signing of Granit Xhaka from Borussia Monchengladbach, but he is not expected to be the only arrival.

Improving the forward line s likely to be chief among the Frenchman’s thoughts, with that area of the team struggling this past season.

They have already been linked with a big money move for Juventus striker Alvaro Morata, but it appears that he may not be the only Seri A striker on their shopping list as they have apparently already made a move for forward Duvan Zapata, according to his agent.

"He is very happy in Udine, his agent said that too and I hope he can remain with our jersey,” Goal reports him telling Radio Kiss Kiss.

"He also received many offers from abroad, including from Arsenal. However, first we want coach Beppe Iachini to get to know the team so they can make shared decisions."

A move for Zapata would certainly be a surprising one from the Gunners given he has hardly set Seria A alight in the last three seasons.

He has managed 23 goals in 78 games in all competitions in that time, which is unlikely to get Gunners fans excited about a move.

However, given how frustrated those fans have become with their forward line in recent years, any new faces may be welcomed regardless.
