Manchester City sign Gabriel Jesus for £27m from Palmeiras
Manchester City have completed the signing of Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus from Palmeiras in a deal worth £27m.

The 19-year-old striker has scored 19 goals in 30 appearances this season and will represent his country at the Olympics in Rio then return to Sao Paulo-based Palmeiras for the rest of the year.

Jesus is City's sixth summer signing following the additions of Ilkay Gundogan, Aaron Mooy, Nolito, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Leroy Sane in agreeing terms with Pep Guardiola's side.

The teenager told City's official website:  "Manchester City is one of the best clubs in the world so I'm really pleased to sign.

"We have many great talents in the team and a fantastic manager in Pep Guardiola that I can learn so much from.

"I'm looking forward to showing the City fans what I can do and I think we'll have a great future together."

Jesus has agreed a four-and-a-half-year deal at the Etihad Stadium but will only make the move to England in December.

He can play anywhere across the front three and has made 67 first-team appearances in total for Palmeiras, scoring 26 goals in the process.

The youth international was believed to have attracted interested interest from some of Europe's leading clubs and his arrival takes City's spending in the close season to almost £100m.
