Report: Red Bulls won’t pursue Bastian Schweinsteiger

There’s been plenty of known interest from Major League Soccer when it comes to acquiring veteran German midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger. The New York Red Bulls reportedly won’t be one of the clubs courting the Manchester United central midfielder, though. According to Bild, global head of soccer for the Red Bulls —Oliver Mintzlaff — has claimed that the reigning Eastern Conference champions won’t pursue Schweinsteiger despite his decorated career for both club and country. “Schweinsteiger is a great player who has had an amazing career,”Mintzlaff told Bild. “But there are no talks [over a move to New York Red Bulls].
