For a man with 235 goals to his name, you might imagine it would be hard to remember the goal we’re talking about – but it’s not.
That stunning left-foot volley against Aston Villa from 18-yards on his way to a memorable hat-trick, remember now?
If you’re still struggling to wrack your brains, fear not – help is at hand.
PICK THAT OUT: Saudi star Fahad Al-Mowallad channels Robin van Persie with an incredible goal
Saudi striker Fahad Al-Mowallad scored a carbon copy of the former United man’s stunning volley earlier this week.
The goal came during his country’s 3-0 win over the United Arab Emirates during a 2018 World Cup qualifier, leaving fans and pundits speechless.
Van Persie’s strike was recently voted the best goal in Premier League history, but for our money Al-Mowallad’s might have been even better.
The 22-year-old Al-Ittihad striker connected with a perfect long ball, sending the stunning volley rifling home into the top corner past a helpless goalkeeper.
"This guy used to play with his buddies near my house and how he's scoring worldies for the national team,” said one viewer.
"What a hero!”
Another comment simply read: “What an explosive banger.”
