Neymar, just 24, could still develop at PSG, says fellow Brazilian Marquinhos.
Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos has revealed that if he could pick one player to join the French champions it would be Barcelona's Neymar.
The Brazil international centre-back was speaking with Goal France after being elected as the only Ligue 1-based player in the publication's top 50 players in the world.
Marquinhos believes his compatriot would be ideal for PSG, mainly because of his "quality as a player" and the fact he can "progress further still," and also expressed his delight at being part of the 50-man list.
"I am on the right path and I must keep working like this," Marquinhos said. "I need to continue to work hard to be on course to win this prize at some point next season or afterwards.
"I'd say Neymar because he's my friend, but, more than anything else, due to his qualities [as a player]," the former AS Roma man responded when asked who he would most like to see join his team.
"He can make the difference at any time, he is an important player for the Selecao and, in addition, he is young, so he can still develop."
Neymar recently signed a five-year contract extension with Barcelona to keep at Camp Nou until 2021, while Marquinhos is expected to follow PSG captain Thiago Silva in committing his future to the French capital club on improved terms in the next few weeks.
The minimum fee release clause in Neymar's contract starts at €200 million next summer before reaching a massive €250m by 2017.
