Agent: Chelsea's Oscar risking oblivion in China… This is why he shouldn't go
Oscar has made nine Premier League appearances for Chelsea this term, starting just five times

OSCAR has been warned by Kevin De Bruyne's agent that he risks "falling into oblivion" in China after his Chelsea transfer was confirmed.

The 25-year-old has agreed a mega-money switch to Shanghai SIPG in January, which will apparently earn Oscar around £400,000 a week.

Chelsea will be paid £60m for the midfielder, despite having sat on the Stamford Bridge bench mostly this season.

Oscar represents at big coup for the Chinese Super League, especially since the Brazil international has his best years ahead of him.

However, Patrick De Koster, De Bruyne's agent at Manchester City, insists football is about more than money and Oscar must realise that.

"Right now, I would never advise him to go there," De Koster told Sporza.

"Money is one thing, but football is fun, and having fun in your job is important.

"It's an interesting story for mature players who can go big there.

"If I were Oscar's agent, I'm not sure I'd recommend it to him.

"You're running the risk of falling into oblivion. But on the other side, if after four years in oblivion you end up with €160 million to your account, that's maybe not so bad."

De Koster's client De Bruyne left Chelsea as a result of his lack of playing time in the first team and established himself in the Bundesliga at Wolfsburg before earning his £55m move to City and return to the Premier League.

But Oscar's career could hit a brick wall in China, despite the massive pay rise.
