Reading manager Jaap Stam has a number of players back in contention for the Boxing Day clash with Norwich.

Danny Williams is available following suspension for the red card he was shown in the 5-0 defeat to Fulham and is expected to come straight back into the squad.

John Swift is also hopeful of a return after resuming training following an ankle injury he suffered on international duty in November.

The Royals currently sit third and are looking for their seventh Sky Bet Championship win in the last nine matches after beating Blackburn 3-2 last weekend.

Under-fire Norwich manager Alex Neil is expected to make changes in an attempt to turn around his side's fortunes.

The Canaries have lost seven of their last nine games to leave them 10th in the table and four points adrift of the top six.

Midfielders Alex Tettey and Steven Naismith are pushing for starting berths after decent second-half displays in the home loss to Huddersfield last Friday.

Winger Matt Jarvis, yet to make a first-team appearance this season following a knee injury, could be involved over the festive period after three recent outings for the Under-23s.
