Plymouth Argyle vs Crawley Town - Ben Purrington pushing for Plymouth recall against Crawley
Posted Friday, December 30, 2016 by PA
Plymouth boss Derek Adams has no fresh injury worries as they prepare to welcome Crawley in Sky Bet League Two on Saturday.
Defender Gary Sawyer is edging closer to a return to the first-team squad after recovering from a stomach injury which has kept him out for over four months.
Jimmy Spencer has had a protective boot taken off this week as he continues his recovery from a broken ankle, while Ryan Donaldson remains sidelined with a broken jaw.
Defensive pair Nauris Bulvitis and Ben Purrington are pushing for starts after recovering from hamstring injuries but Ryan Brunt (anterior cruciate ligament) and David Ijaha (groin) are unavailable.
Dermot Drummy is expected to make a couple of changes from the side which lost 3-2 to Leyton Orient on Boxing Day when his side travel to Home Park.
While the Crawley manager has no new injury concerns, Joe McNerney is pushing for his first start since recovering from a knee injury.
The defender replaced Andre Blackman at half-time at Brisbane Road as Crawley fought back from 3-0 down, albeit to no avail.
Matt Harrold (Achilles) is Crawley's only long-term absentee.
