FIFA 17 player reveals how to use controversial "momentum" to your advantage

It's the biggest question surrounding FIFA 17.
Does momentum really exist in the game?
Momentum, or scripting, refers to the game allegedly auto-adjusting online matches to keep them competitive.
A line of game code is believed to recognise when a player is being beaten and skews in-game "luck" to favour the weaker opponent.
This is manifested in goalkeepers conceding simple shots and bizarre referee decisions.
Last year, one gamer, girlfriend_pregnant, claimed to find a line of in-game code (below) he believes is responsible.
Now, that same gamer has studied the code some more – and found an ingenious way to "game" momentum to your advantage.
He writes: "The response to this little finding has been overwhelming.
"After publishing, I received a message from u/CatalystFCP with code that seems to give actual detail on how momentum works.
"I believe this has been shown before, but now that this has reached critical mass, let's take a look."
While it all looks incredibly complicated, girlfriend_pregnant reveals an incredibly simple revelation.
"If you want to simply take advantage of momentum, take less shots, keep low possession, don't score early, and (use) a bronze bench," he concludes.
Unsurprisingly, the findings seem to have resonated with the community.
One gamer wrote: "I definitely want to know more.
"Once I really learned how to manage momentum about a month ago, FIFA became a lot more fun.
"Not as fun as it could be, of course, but at least this knowledge makes it easier to accept what the hell is going on (and keep your cool) during those 'funny old game omg moments'."
