Plymouth Argyle vs Stevenage Borough - Gary Miller misses out for Plymouth
Posted Thursday, January 12, 2017 by PA
Gary Miller has been ruled out of Plymouth's clash with Stevenage after suffering ankle ligament damage in the FA Cup draw at Liverpool.
Oscar Threlkeld is expected to deputise, while manager Derek Adams is considering bringing in another full-back in the transfer window.
The Pilgrims could give debuts to new signings Jakub Sokolik and Nathan Blissett after both were cup-tied for the FA Cup match. Blissett, nephew of former England international Luther Blissett, will offer another striking option following his B#15,000 move from Torquay.
Gary Sawyer is closing in on a return to fitness and has an outside chance of featuring, but long-term injuries continue to sideline David Ijaha (groin), Jimmy Spencer (ankle), Ryan Donaldson (broken jaw) and Ryan Brunt (anterior cruciate ligaments).
Stevenage manager Darren Sarll has no fresh injury or suspension concerns for the game.
Regular Dale Gorman has signed a new and improved contract this week which keeps him with Boro until 2019.
Midfielder Henry Cowans is also in contention this weekend after having his loan from Aston Villa extended until the end of the season but striker Harry McKirdy has returned to Villa following the expiration of his loan deal.
Tom Conlon remains sidelined due to a knee injury.
