Southend United vs Bolton Wanderers - Nouble in line for Shrimpers debut

Striker Frank Nouble is set to go straight into the Southend squad for the visit of Bolton after signing until the end of the season following his release by Gillingham.

Winger Jermaine McGlashan is suspended after being sent off for two quick bookings during the first half of the 2-1 win over Rochdale last Saturday.

Forward Nile Ranger remains unavailable having been suspended by the Shrimpers for a "breach of discipline" which is being investigated by the Football Association.

Goalkeeper Mark Oxley (elbow) is closing in on a return to full training, as is on-loan Crystal Palace centre-back Ryan Inniss (shoulder), while striker David Mooney (ankle) and winger Stephen McLaughlin (ankle) continue their rehabilitation.

Bolton captain Darren Pratley will again be missing.

The midfielder has not played since the opening day of the season due to a fractured ankle and despite closing in on a return, he has suffered a setback and now requires surgery that could keep him out for the remainder of the campaign.

Phil Parkinson has named an unchanged line-up for three successive games but must decide if any of his XI overexerted themselves in the FA Cup replay loss to Crystal Palace on Tuesday.

Mark Davies (knee) and Mark Howard (thumb) remain out.
