Wigan Athletic vs Brentford - Craig Morgan could push for Wigan start

Wigan boss Warren Joyce could hand Craig Morgan a place in the starting line-up against Brentford after the defender stepped up his recovery from a groin injury.

Morgan came on as an 85th-minute substitute in the 2-0 win at Burton last weekend - Latics' first Sky Bet Championship victory in eight games - after a month out.

Sam Morsy is also expected to keep his place in midfield after extending his contract with the club in midweek.

Nick Powell (hamstring), Reece James (ankle), Donervon Daniels (knee), Alex Gilbey (ankle), Luke Garbutt (back) and David Perkins (hamstring) are still struggling.

Scott Hogan could be missing from the starting XI again for Brentford amid continued interest from West Ham.

The 14-goal striker was left on the bench by boss Dean Smith as the Bees were beaten 2-1 by Newcastle last weekend.

Left-back Rico Henry is back in training after a shoulder injury but needs a reserve game before being considered.

Midfield duo Lewis Macleod (knee) and Alan Judge (leg) remain sidelined for the Bees.
