Sheffield Wednesday could be without both Glenn Loovens and Gary Hooper for their home game against Birmingham.

Centre-half Loovens is doubtful due to the knee injury that kept him out of last Friday's win at Wigan while striker Hooper is still struggling with a thigh strain.

Midfielder Sam Hutchinson will return to contention after serving a two-game ban and winger Will Buckley is hoping to feature after being sidelined for two months following shoulder surgery.

Jordan Rhodes is poised to make his home debut for the Owls, but fellow striker Steven Fletcher sits out the last game of his three-match ban.

Birmingham will be without captain Michael Morrison after he had hernia surgery.

The defender is expected to be missing for a number of weeks having gone under the knife on Tuesday to add to Blues' issues at the back.

Ryan Shotton is also out with a groin injury meaning on loan Arsenal defender Krystian Bielik is on standby to make his debut having joined last month.

Winger Jacques Maghoma will also be missing because of a slight knee injury he picked up on duty with DR Congo at the African Nations Cup.
